Later or Latter
Here is a pair of words that is often confused by many students: LATER and LATTER. Let’s find out the difference between them ????????
???? LATER
is an adverb. It is used in relation to time, and it means for something to happen in the future, or after the time you have mentioned.
Examples:
✅ He’ll be back later.
✅ He trained a lot, and he won the competition later.
✅ Let’s go for a walk later.
???? LATTER
is an adjective. It is used to describe one of two things in comparison, and it refers to the second of two things or persons mentioned (or the last one of several). It can also be used to describe something near the end of something.
Examples:
✅ He offered me to go to the cinema or the museum, and I chose the latter.
✅ There are people who love olives and who hate it. I belong to the latter category.
✅ In the latter stages of the fight he began to win.
✅ Things were going really well in the latter half of 2017.

- Some people choose to read e-books rather than paper books, but I prefer the latter.
* I’m going to read my book later today.
